About me

I’m Sharon Nugent, self-taught Jewish-Colombian artist. I'm 28 and throughout my life, I've always felt a profound need for creative expression and have been in incessant search for beauty, be it through art or words. As the fourth generation in a family of artists who all but one followed conventional careers, I decided to pursue what I love.

I wish the reason was less melancholic, but the truth is that art made me feel alive again after having spent a few years in survival mode following my mother's and brother's passing in my early twenties. Such is life though, and I'm here to reclaim, not to be a victim.

My work is deeply personal, but I hope it can also serve as a space for emotional response and dialogue, reflecting the inevitables in life: its weight and inspiring lightness.
